Barnett
Barnett had on
display the complete, recently introduced, lineup.
Among the new models there was the brand new
Predator.
The Predator ,
Barnett's top of the line model, was announced
several months ago but was not ready for mass
production until recently.
Should be available on shop shelves
by the end of March.
I had a chance to handle one and,
despite its massive appearance, feels as light
as other models (8 lbs versus 7.7 for the Revolution
AVi). The Crossbow look really massive especially in
the front where the AVi (damping material) covered
limbs makes them appear quite big, also the front
riser looks really massive though proportioned with
the limb size.
With such a big riser I would have
expected the front section being heavily
unbalanced but I was really surprised as the bow is
nearly perfectly balanced on the front foregrip, I
later learned that the front riser is made in
expensive and light magnesium...
Compared to an average width of
around 26"-27" (for the Revolution and Quad) the
Predator is also considerably narrower at 24".
Remarkable
features include:
-
175 LBS draw
weight
-
16" Power
Stroke
-
24" Width
-
375 FPS arrow
speed.
