Over the weekend (March 13-16) we attended the
European foremost Outdoor show, the IWA in
Nuremberg, Germany.
Despite the economic downturn the atmosphere was
moderately optimistic among exhibitors, this was
confirmed by both attendance and number of
exhibitors, booth slightly increasing over last
year's figures: visitors for this year were 32.000 (vs
last year's 31.518) from over 100 countries and
exhibitors 1.132 (last year 1.146). This is a
moderate increase, but considering that many
companies are cutting travel expenses introducing
stringent travel restrictions it must be considered
a s terrific success.
As usual show management organized the show with
German precision, and every routine operation such
as check in and qualification (the show is strictly
for business attendance) were smooth and fast.
Since most of the crossbow manufactured introduced
their new product at the ATA show (that we covered
HERE),
there is not much left to talk about, so we decided
to leave most of the space to picture galleries.
Worth mentioning: TenPoint showed a redesigned
Phantom riser with larger cutouts to reduce weight
(as much as 8 ounces) and a new darker finish for
the Phantom finish.
Barnett had on display the Predator in carbon finish
and the Quad AVi with the integrated crank cocking
device
Horton was missing as they (rumor) are undergoing
some management change.
Hawke Optics showed us the new crossbow scopes,
really a nice product.
About flashlights we saw really interesting products
from Fenix and Inova, while on the knives side we
liked the Extrema Ratio Suppressor, the new Cold
Steel Spartan and the Fox made of Titanium and
Carbon fiber.
Enjoy....
