Assembly

NOTE BEFORE YOU START READ THE MANUAL AND WATCH THE ENCLOSED DVD THOROUGHLY !!!! ALWAYS BE SAFE.

Let's start with the manual, the printed version leaves something to be deserved , in this case however there is a very good DVD where Bill Troubridge (no less than the owner and founder of Excalibur) will guide you to all aspects of your new crossbow. The DVD will guide you from assembly to shooting to hunting to safety! Again make sure you take the time to watch it because it contains valuable information that is not in the printed version manual. Excalibur also replicated some of the DVD content onto their web site for your convenience.

Now on to crossbow assembly.

The front riser attaches to the barrel via a couple of Allen screws, there are two side ribs on the riser to guide it on the barrel and ensure alignment. Since there is no string on the job is pretty simple.

Just make sure to put an oil drop on all the screws, as they come really dry and you may find unable to unlock them once tightened.

The foot stirrup is also mounted onto the riser via a couple of small Allen screws.

Now comes the catchy part as we need to mount the string, it is not difficult as the procedure is clearly shown on the DVD but this is where you will start being glad you purchased the additional “the right stuff” package. In the package you will in fact find a Stringer accessory that makes stringing a really easy job.

Now that you have your string on you can mount the dissipator pads on the front riser.

Documentation says that “it is quite acceptable to shoot the crossbow without” and being skeptical about their usefulness, we decided to do so.

(After having tested I can tell you they really work, so just go ahead and screw them on !)

Just a last note about the enclosed sight , it is a Fiber optic sight and it mounts on a dovetail on the riser, while most manufactures just go along with a pin sight screwed down on the riser (no positive alignment). It shows Excalibur cared to small details , but believe me you want a Lumi-Zone.
