Vixen compared to big brother Equinox

Optional but highly recommended, the "Right Stuff" package

Introduction

Last year we reviewed Excalibur’s top of the line Equinox, this time we wanted to test a entry level crossbow: simple, easy to use and affordable to see how good it is and to understand what do you may miss in order to save a few hundred dollars from higher end offerings. We are now taking a deep look at the Excalibur Vixen.

Packaging

The Vixen comes packaged in the classic Excalibur white cartoon box that contains:

  • Stock and barrel section

  • Riser and limbs section

  • Diopter and pin (fiber optic) sight

  • Foot stirrup

  • Crossbow manual (DVD)

  • Warranty card

  • Excel String

  • Mounting screws

  • Allen Wrenches

  • Mounting screws and wrenches

As with any crossbow in Excalibur’s lineup the crossbow is sold as a bare bow configuration letting you free to choose how to accessorize your machine: you can either supply your own purchase only items that you need or upgrade with the “right stuff kit” from Excalibur that includes everything that you need to get started.
