Vixen's main components

Bolts locking riser in place

Sight with fiber optic front pin

Ready for the range...

Assembly

Assembly of the Vixen is pretty straightforward:  just align the riser section onto the stock section and bolt on the two Allen screw. Just make sure to lubricate the two screws and washers otherwise you will have a hard time when you will need to un-assemble it.

Now just another couple of screws to affix the front stirrup and we are almost done.

Now we just need to put the string in place and head for the range...

Sting mounting may not be that easy, if you get the Stringer tool from Excalibur you can easily do that yourself, otherwise you may ask some help from your local pro shop. Just make sure to follow Excalibur’s instruction and set the brace height (applying turns to string) with the string lying between the two marks on the fore end of the flight rail. The procedure is very simple and illustrated in the DVD manual; just make sure to take the time to see the complete DVD as there are very important procedures and safety instructions described.

The Vixen does not use the Dissipator Bar and pads found in other models as the arrow speeds generated by the Vixen are not so extreme, also this crossbow focuses on being “budged conscious” therefore this accessory is not provided (it is available to buy separately if you want/need).

As mentioned the paper manual (though still included, in a reduced form) is replaced with an instructional DVD where Bill Troubridge (owner of Excalibur Crossbows) goes into great detail explaining crossbow features, setup and usage. Just make sure to watch all DVD section as it contains important safety procedures.
