Ergonomics
The TenPoint Stealth X2 is a very well balanced
bow, weight seems to be evenly an correctly
distributed between front end hand guard and
trigger hand-shoulder. It shoulders also very
well, the movement to raise up the crossbow and
taking aim is quite natural and you can easily
do that in a single motion movement without
further adjustments. Depending on your usage of
the crossbow this may or may not be an important
evaluation factor. The stock is sort of a little
bit short at least for me standing at 6' 1" .I
prefer better the Excalibur stock length as it
allows me to assume a more comfortable posture
shouldering and aiming the xbow. I dot use any
cocking device and here the short stock helps
since it does not come into my stomach as I
reach down for the string. This works for me,
it may not work for you. Being taller you
may find the stock a little bit short while
being shorter you may find it just perfect!
Loading the Stealth X2 also posed no problem,
just some effort on my side. If you do like or
cannot hand cock the crossbow TenPoint comes to
the rescue offering not one but two alternate
cocking aids.
Both of them can be chosen at time of purchase
or can be fitted afterwards. On older models
like the StealthX2 you have to send the crossbow
to factory, for newer ones any pro-shop can do
as TenPoint now provides every stock with holes
for mounting either ACUDraw or ACUDraw50.
ACUDraw50 is an evolution of the old rope
cocking , that when not in use completely
retracts (aided by a spring mechanism) in a
housing integrated into the butt stock, handles
are kept on the stock via two small but powerful
magnets. ACUDraw50 as the name implies reduces
the coking effort by 50%.
ACUDraw is a patented crank cocking mechanism
that despite having housing a little larger than
the ACUDraw50 offers the convenience of reducing
the cocking effort down to a mere 5 lbs. It may
also be operated by a cordless screwdriver or
drill.
Although not being a fan of cocking mechanisms I
have to remark that this comes a long way toward
people who have permanent or temporary
disabilities that do not allow them to "macho"
load the bow.
Well done TenPoint!
